    REJUVENATE YOUR CEDAR

    All outdoor woods fade and grey in colour over time, however this natural weathering process can be delayed with Clear UV Protection Oil. This UV-Protection oil has been developed to help maintain the natural wood colours and optimise the grain characteristics in outdoor areas.

    It is recommended that oil is applied 12 weeks following installation to allow the natural cedar oils to release from the panels and then maximum absorption of the oil into the cedar wood. As a maintenance recommendation, reapplication is encouraged every 2-3 years.

    HOW TO APPLY UV OIL

    Apply 12 weeks following cedar installation to allow the natural cedar oils to release from the panels and then maximum absorbtion of the oil into the cedar wood. 

    Use a flat brush or microfibre roller, apply thinly along the wood grain and spread well. Allow to dry for approx. 12 hours under good ventilation. Then apply the second coat.

    As a maintenance recommendation, reapplication is encouraged every 2-3 years. One coat applied to the clean and dry surface is usually sufficient.

    What is the coverage?

    Why do I have to wait 12 weeks before the first application?

    It is recommended that the panels are installed outside and are oiled or painted 12 weeks later - this prevents the stain/protection oil reacting with the naturally occurring oils that release from the wood. 

    Will the wood fade over the first 12 weeks before the oil can be applied?

    There may be some slight greying or lightening depending on the weather during the first 12 weeks, however the UV Protection Oil will darken the wood and bring it back to the original cedar tone.  

    How often will I need to apply the oil?

    Oil the panels every 2-3 years for best protection.
