Spring is almost upon us bringing with it lighter days and nicer weather. After hiding from the cold for the last few months, now is the perfect time to invest in your home and give it the spring refresh it truly deserves! In this blog, we’ll be handing over to Olivia Crosher, our expert in-house interior stylist, to explore six easy steps you can take to reinvigorate your home for the season ahead.
1. Swap out throws and cushions

Spring is the perfect time to replace heavy faux fur throws and cushions with lighter materials to embrace the warmer weather on the horizon. Textures such as linen and cotton are great for layering, as they still give warmth without weighing down the space. It’s easy to keep a neutral scheme by using contrasting textures to create depth with warm beiges, creams and whites. Alternatively, introducing colourful, patterned cushions and throws is a quick way to add visual impact if you are working toward a bolder look.
2. Add in statement lighting
With the days slowly starting to draw out, we begin to welcome more daylight hours in spring. That said, we shouldn’t stray away from embracing ambient lighting in the home.
Statement lighting is a great way to add interest to a room, improving the visual impact of the space even when turned off. Incorporating a bold pendant light or a retro table lamp, for example, will add something unexpected to the space. What’s more, these can be picked up second-hand too, contributing to a more sustainable way of shopping while adding a unique personality to your home.
3. Incorporate earthy colour

Introducing colours drawn from nature instantly gives a grounding feeling to space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Fiery terracotta, blush pink, lemon yellow and duck egg blue are all examples of colours that will brighten up an interior. These can be added through smaller accessories such as candles, vases and coffee table books to give a quick and uplifting transformation. For a greater transformation, colour drench your room by painting all the walls - and even the ceiling - to encapsulate the warmth.
4. Floral centrepieces
Bring the outside in by adding a bold floral centrepiece as a feature to your dining table or kitchen island. With nature starting to bloom all around us, this is a perfect way to incorporate the change of seasons in your home. These centrepieces instantly add colour and life to a room and can be done by foraging from your own back garden. Not only does a floral arrangement brighten a space, it also brings a host of biophilic benefits with it, improving your wellbeing at home.
5. Utilise storage
With the season of spring cleaning upon us, utilising smart storage systems is the perfect way to declutter the home whilst balancing function with form. Multi-functional rooms are becoming increasingly popular, with interiors needing to accommodate a range of activities within one space.

Furniture pieces that double up as storage, for example benches and ottomans, are a great way to keep spaces clutter-free whilst offering a stylish addition to any interior. To make a bolder statement, create a feature bookcase or shelving arrangement to display your most cherished items, adding colourful books or accessories to bring in pops of colour, and depth.
6. Refresh your walls with panelling
Last but not least, there is a wide selection of wall panels that will easily and swiftly refresh any room.
It’s important however to first establish which is the right panel for any given room. Living rooms, dining rooms and home offices, for example, will benefit from a high quality MDF wall panel and SlatWall panels . Available in a diverse selection of styles including fluted and reeded panels, dado rails, MDF wall panels can be arranged in a variety of ways to suit any interior style. What’s more, many of our MDF wall panels can be painted so you can seamlessly integrate them into your colour scheme. For high traffic areas or humid rooms such as bathrooms, our wet wall panels will easily add a nature-inspired finish to a space adding shades of real wood or even natural stone.
With two weeks to go until the official start of spring, there is plenty of time to plan your seasonal refresh. By following any number of these simple tips, your home will feel fully revitalised, and ready for the brighter months ahead! The only question that remains is which are you going to try?
