Where Can You Use Acoustic Wall Panels?

Bedrooms

Optimising a bedroom for better sleep and relaxation is extremely important. Excess noise is one of the leading causes of low quality sleep making acoustic wall panels the perfect choice for any bedroom. Whether you add the panels to walls adjoining the neighbour’s home, or use them on every wall in the room, you can minimise external noise and enjoy the perfect night’s sleep. You can even fit them to your ceiling if you live in a flat!

Home Offices and Work Spaces

As with sleep, noise is a leading cause for distraction and diminished concentration. Acoustic wall panels are the ideal choice for office environments helping to create spaces conducive to improved concentration and greater quality work. Acoustic panels featuring a soft, natural finish will also help with creating a calming environment for working in.

Media Rooms

Whether your media room features a home cinema or a top end sound system, adding acoustic wall panels will help you to manage the noise with ease. From making a quiet environment to enjoy the latest blockbuster in, to stopping the latest hits from reverberating throughout your home, adding acoustic wall panels will maximise the functionality of the room while improving its visual appeal.

Music Spaces

While the main use for acoustic panels may be to reduce the levels of external noise entering a room, they’re also excellent for keeping noise within a space. Whether you’re a budding novice or seasoned musician, adding acoustic panels in the room where your practice will improve its acoustics while helping others better enjoy the rooms they’re relaxing in.

Kids’ Bedrooms & Play Spaces

Rooms where children play can be some of the noisiest spaces in the home. With the right acoustic panels however, your little ones can play while you relax in peace. Choosing paintable acoustic panels allows you to add a fun decorative touch to the space by painting them in your child’s favorite colour.

Self Care Spaces

In an increasingly stressful world, making a self care space can have a positive impact on your mental well being. Whether you use the space to read, meditate or do yoga, making sure it's quiet and peaceful should be your top priority. Acoustic panels in an organic wooden finish are the ideal choice, promoting greater mindfulness and peace.

How to Install Acoustic Wall Panels

Acoustic Panels are easy to install without any need for specialist DIY knowledge or experience. Simply bond directly to wall with grab adhesive. These panels can be cut to suit your size and space with DIY-friendly tools.

Follow our step-by-step guide for a range of tips around cutting and fitting your panels. If you get stuck, you can always contact our friendly customer service team.

Maximise Sound Absorption

To maximise soundproofing, there are two alternative installation methods:

Screw Directly to the Wall – Use 15x drywall screws through the felt gaps between the slats into your wall. Space screws in rows of three every 200mm, with five rows spaced 600mm apart. This can achieve an absorption coefficient of 0.35 (MH).

Fixing onto 45mm Battens – For best acoustic results, mount panels on 45mm battens with 45mm mineral wool between each. Space battens 600mm apart. This can achieve an absorption coefficient of 0.9 (MH).
