    Frequently Asked Questions

Can Waterproof panels be used in a shower?

No - they are not suitable for shower cubicles or wet rooms, as they’re not designed for continuous or submerged water exposure. If you are looking for a 100% watertight wall panel solutions head to our Shower Panel page.

What is waterproof panelling, and where can it be used?

Waterproof panelling is a durable wall covering designed to resist water, moisture, and humidity making it ideal for bathrooms, kitchens, and utility spaces. It offers a low-maintenance solution, with a seamless finish that's lightweight, quick and easy to install.

Where it can be used:  Bathrooms, around sinks or baths, kitchens and splashbacks, hallways and utility rooms.  Where it shouldn’t be used: Inside shower cubicles or wet rooms, near direct heat sources like saunas or steam rooms, anywhere with direct, prolonged, or repeated water exposure, any environment consistently above 45°C

While the panels are fully waterproof, they are not designed to withstand direct and prolonged water or heat exposure, such as that found in enclosed shower spaces.

    What material are Waterproof panels?

Our Waterproof panels are made from a durable polystyrene composite (PS) that’s lightweight, rigid, and moisture-resistant, making it ideal for bathrooms and kitchens. While easy to install and low-maintenance, it isn’t designed for high-impact areas or continuous water exposure such as inside shower cubicles.

How do I install the panels?

Our waterproof panels are very simple to install by bonding with grab adhesive. Each panel has a tongue and a groove edging design for a seamless and modular fitting. Only use solvent free adhesive and sealant to install and seal the panels. View our fitting guide for more information.

How do I clean waterproof panels?

We recommend using a soft, damp cloth to clean your panels. If you need to remove tougher stains, we recommend using washing-up liquid with a pH neutral formula instead of acidic or alkaline cleaners. Ensure to rinse and dry after use to help prevent build-up of residue and limescale.

    Can I cut the panels?

All waterproof panels can be easily cut with a fine-toothed hand saw to create your desired length and width. We do not recommend using a circular saw or jigsaw as this may cause splinters in the material reducing the waterproof properties.
