While 2025 brought plenty of inspiring trends, this year is set to push things even further. To bring you our most exciting predictions, we caught up with our in-house trend experts and BBC Interior Design Masters finalist Jack Kinsey to explore what the new year has in store.

Each of the Naturewall interior trends for 2026 tap into a broader cultural shift: homes that are expressive, emotionally inspired, materially rich, and connected to the way we truly live. Whether you’re elevating your space through texture, colour, natural materials, or architectural form, these trends offer inspiration for every style and budget. Alongside the trends, we’ve curated a dedicated panel collection inspired by each look and range of sample bundles, making it easy to explore the textures, tones, and finishes defining 2026. So slip on your comfiest slippers, make yourself a cosy drink, and settle in for our top interior trends for 2026.

Maximum Dimension

Full height architectural impact is front and centre with our first trend. Fast becoming a defining feature of contemporary interiors, Maximum Dimension design is reshaping how people think about the role of walls within a space.

Rather than being treated as mere flat backdrops, walls are increasingly approached as architectural elements in their own right, offering surfaces that add structure, depth, and atmosphere from floor to ceiling. A well decorated wall, can bring a sense of scale and drama, which can be amplified by the tactile qualities of the deep grooves and appealing texture of quality wall panels.

“Panelling can literally elevate any space. It instantly lifts and adds another element that’s unexpected. I picked Dark Oak and ran it straight from the floor right up and over onto the ceiling.”

In the Dining Space

Full-height panelling instantly elevates the room, while bold, dramatic tones set a mood that feels designed for entertaining. A sculptural centrepiece on the table or large pendant lighting can transform the space with minimal effort.

Even panel drenching the ceiling with sculptural forms will add depth and dimension that guests will love and remember. The key is layering with purpose and a touch of drama - even the simplest dining space can feel extraordinary when treated with a potent mixture of texture and expressive scale.

Curated Nostalgia

The rise of individual spaces shaped by memory, character, and customisation has given birth to Curated Nostalgia, and it’s going to be a strong voice in 2026. This trend doesn’t employ specific colour palettes, shapes or materials - it’s built on personality and our unique nostalgic feelings.

After years of ultra-minimal sameness, people are craving interiors filled with meaning and rooted in their own history, utilising a mix of collected and cherished objects. This trend celebrates the return to emotional styling with heirlooms, shelves alive with personality, crafted artwork, and rooms layered with warm, sentimental details.

“People are being a bit more conscious of the environment, so I think a lot of handmade and handcrafted pieces will be coming through in interiors.”

In the Home Office

The home office of 2026 steps away from clinical minimalism, embracing warmth, charm, and personality instead. Start by finding meaningful objects. Pictures of loved ones or finger paintings by your little ones alongside desk decorations and a comfy chair to mix both personality and practicality.

Opt for warm ambient lighting rather than blinding task lights to instantly soften the room and promote concentration. Don’t be afraid to go bold with wall colours or accessories though; a pop of deep green, claret, navy or warm ochre can bring the entire space to life.

Paintable MDF panels are perfect for customisation, helping you to use your favourite colours while adding texture. Oiled panels on the other hand, provide the perfect luxury backdrop for your most cherished possessions.

Blended Expression

This character-forward trend embraces a confident mix of materials and influences, combining the new with the old to create spaces that feel lived-in, layered, and visually engaging. It celebrates the freedom to mix styles, drawing inspiration from multiple eras and making them work together in harmony.

Blended Expression encourages designers to break free from traditional design categories championing a fearless blend of contemporary forms and classic details. Reclaimed materials, refined finishes, and global influence are carefully curated into a dynamic, considered, and effortlessly homely interior palette.

“I'd say rather than buying new, source antique pieces of furniture because they're solid, they're made to last and they're often a lot more unique and beautifully built.”

In the Living Room

Celebrating carefully curated charisma through the delicate blending of eras, tones, and materials is going to be a real hit in 2026! To lean into this trend, introduce mid-tone woods and warm upholstery with brass accents, to create a space that’s modern, but inspired by the past.

Panelling plays a key role in anchoring this layered look - especially those in natural wooden finish that establishes a refined foundation for the other elements of your theme. If you prefer a polished edge, stone effect wall panels deliver sophisticated contrast with the warmer materials you use.

Wall panels have a lot to offer this trend. Walnut shades with brass accents, stone-inspired finishes and reeded profiles naturally synergise into this richly layered 2026 trend.

Organic Invitation

Organic Invitation is a grounded, nature-led aesthetic that takes inspiration from the outdoors. Throughout 2025, wellness has become the heart of many home design themes, and this trend continues in that vein. Vertical lines, limewash-inspired surfaces, subtle movement, and warm, earthy hues combine to create modern, restorative spaces that feel intentionally pared back yet welcoming.

We expect to see more spaces embrace a softer, more sensory interpretation of nature, blending calm minimalism with comforting texture, alongside shades of light oak, mossy greens, and soft stone tones that introduce an easy, natural rhythm throughout the home.

“I love incorporating nature into my interiors. Things like moss and ferns really pull a whole scheme together, and I love that it feels like reconnecting with nature.”

In the Bedroom

In 2026, bedrooms are set to be transformed into sanctuaries shaped by nature and calming energies. Soft vertical lines, natural tones, and a variety of tactile materials will set the rhythm of the space, inviting a sense of ease which is ideal for rest and sleep.

Layering is also very important in this room. Soft bedding in rich stone grey hues, warm diffused lighting, and the addition of leafy plants instantly soften the space capturing the essence of the biophilia trend, but in a new and exciting way that's ideal for the bedroom.
