What 2026 Will Look Like: The Must-Know Interior Trends
It’s hard to believe, but 2026 is already on the horizon - and with it comes a fresh wave of ideas shaping the future of interior design. While this year has brought plenty of inspiring trends, the next is set to push things even further. To bring you our most exciting predictions, we caught up with our in-house trend experts and BBC Interior Design Masters finalist Jack Kinsey to explore what the new year has in store. So slip on your comfiest slippers, make yourself a cosy drink, and settle in for our top interior trends for 2026.
Curated Nostalgia
The rise of individual spaces shaped by memory, character, and customisation has given birth to Curated Nostalgia, and we think it’s going to be a strong voice in 2026. This trend doesn’t employ specific colour palettes, shapes or materials - it’s built on personality and our unique nostalgic feelings.
After years of ultra-minimal, “show-home” sameness, people are craving interiors filled with meaning and rooted in their own history, utilising a mix of collected and cherished objects. Curated Nostalgia celebrates the return to emotional styling with items with history, shelves alive with personality, mismatched artwork, and rooms layered with warm, sentimental details. It’s not about perfection, but about showcasing the pieces that reflect who we are and where we came from.

As Jack Kinsey says, “Never leave a space white and bright - it’s so boring and has no character.”
We whole-heartedly agree - homes should be extensions of our personas so take time to think about how your space can exemplify who you are. You can even consider adding items you’ve lovingly crafted yourself. As Jack also said, “I think people are being a bit more conscious of the environment, so I think a lot of handmade and handcrafted pieces will be coming through in interiors.

“I think it's about looking at everyday items which people often toss away or discard, and then thinking, oh, I could reuse that and repurpose it into something awesome.”
How Naturewall can help:
Paintable MDF panels are perfect for customisation, helping you to use your favourite colours while adding texture. Oiled panels on the other hand, provide the perfect luxury backdrop for your most cherished possessions.
Blended Expression
This character-forward trend embraces a confident mix of materials and influences, combining the new with the old to create spaces that feel lived-in, layered, and visually engaging. It celebrates the freedom to mix styles, drawing inspiration from multiple eras and making them work together in harmony.
Blended Expression encourages designers to break free from traditional design categories. It champions a fearless blend of contemporary forms with classic details, reclaimed materials, refined finishes, and global influences, all carefully curated into a cohesive whole. The result is a home that feels dynamic, considered, and effortlessly homely.

This trend also marks the return of richer palettes, bold shapes, and characterful contrasts. As Jack predicts, “Stripes are going to be a big thing, particularly black and white or monochromatic stripes.” That’s welcome news for anyone who loves the vertical lines and graphic rhythm of classic SlatWall panels.
Jack also reminds us that elevated home styling doesn’t require a huge budget. Affordable antique pieces paired with warm-toned wall panelling can instantly lift a room and give it a more considered, high-end feel. As he puts it, “I'd also say rather than buying new, source antique pieces of furniture because they're solid, they're made to last and they're often a lot more unique and beautifully built.”

How Naturewall can help:
Wall panels have a lot to offer this trend. Walnut shades with brass accents, stone-inspired finishes and reeded profiles naturally synergise into this richly layered 2026 trend.
Maximum Dimension
Full height architectural impact is front and centre with our third trend. Fast becoming a defining feature of contemporary interiors, Maximum Dimension design is reshaping how people think about the role of walls within a space.
Rather than being treated as mere flat backdrops, walls are increasingly approached as architectural elements in their own right, offering surfaces that add structure, depth, and atmosphere from floor to ceiling. A well decorated wall, for example, can bring a sense of scale and drama, which can be amplified by the tactile qualities of the deep grooves and appealing texture of quality wall panels.

By approaching architectural surfaces in ways that feel intentional, structural, and immersive, you can quickly transform a space into the pinnacle of quality and style. Tall panels and grand slats along the walls, and even panel drenching with panels across the ceiling will introduce sculptural forms which, when combined with bold colours, will make the space unique and full of character.

As Jack said, “Panelling can literally elevate any space. It instantly lifts and adds another element that’s unexpected. I picked the much warmer tone of the Dark Oak and ran it straight from the floor right up and over onto the ceiling.”

Organic Invitation
Last but not least, Organic Invitation is a grounded, nature-led aesthetic that takes inspiration from the outdoors. Throughout 2025, wellness has become the heart of many home design themes, and this trend continues in that vein.

With Organic Invitation, we expect to see more spaces embrace a softer, more sensory interpretation of nature, blending calm minimalism with comforting texture alongside shades of light oak, clay-toned neutrals, mossy greens and soft stone tones that introduce an easy, natural rhythm throughout the home.

Vertical lines, limewash-inspired surfaces, subtle movement, and warm, earthy hues combine to create modern, restorative spaces that feel intentionally pared back yet welcoming.
Jack summed it up perfectly. “Never leave a space white and bright” he advises, championing depth, nuance, and the emotional warmth that layered materials can bring. “I love incorporating nature into my interiors. Things like moss and ferns really pull a whole scheme together, it really introduced that earthy, natural feeling that I was after. I love that it feels like it’s reconnecting with nature.”

His passion for repurposing and reimagining materials also echoes the sustainable, earth-first mindset at the core of the trend.
How Naturewall can help:
This is a trend for a natural home. As a result, light oak finishes and textured panels, alongside an organic colour palette inspired directly by the outdoors, will serve you exceptionally well.
Each of these four trends taps into a broader cultural shift: homes that are expressive, emotionally inspired, materially rich, and connected to the way we truly live. Whether you’re elevating your space through texture, colour, natural materials, or architectural form, these trends offer inspiration for every style and budget.
