Description

Sample the mixture of tones

Style your scheme before beginning your decorating project with a CorkWall Porto Beige sample. Characterised by its khaki shade that blends warm and cool tones, this style features a linear pattern with a speckled finish. It's also beautifully textured, so you can see how this colourway will add depth and intrigue to your chosen room.

Our CorkWall tiles are made from the bark of Portuguese cork oaks, and this tester allows you to see and feel the material up close. As no trees are cut down in the production process and are left to regenerate their bark, this style is a sustainable and stylish option for your decorating project.

Installation

How to install CorkWall tiles

Before you begin installing your CorkWall tiles, ensure you have all the correct PPE available and your walls are smooth, clean and level. Allow 48 hours prior to installation for the tiles to acclimatise in your chosen room.

To apply to your wall, spray an even layer of Contact Spray Adhesive to the back of one pack of CorkWall tiles and across the area of wall you intent to cover. Allow to dry for approximately 5 minutes. The Contact Spray Adhesive on both the wall and CorkWall tile will be dry to touch but will instantly adhere when applied together.

Place your first tile in the centre of your wall and apply light pressure. If needed, gently remove the CorkWall tile and reposition until you are happy with the placement. Once you are happy with the alignment, press firmly with your hands to adhere to the wall and use a J-Roller to ensure the CorkWall tile is attached firmly in place.

Repeat this process for each tile, building your chosen design row by row. Ensure that the joints are flush and that the tile is level each time.

Once your CorkWall is complete, use a J-Roller over the whole area to ensure each tile is fully bonded.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many cans of Contact Spray Adhesive do I need?

Each pack of CorkWall tiles requires 2 cans of Contact Spray Adhesive.

How do I install CorkWall tiles?

Can I use CorkWall tiles as a pin board?

When installed onto plasterboard, CorkWall tiles will act as a pin board - perfect for home office feature walls.

Why do I need to acclimatise my CorkWall tiles?

CorkWall tiles can naturally slightly expand and contract dependant on the temperature of your room, therefore we recommend acclimatising CorkWall by unpacking and placing in your chosen room for 48 hours prior to installation.

Are CorkWall tiles eco-friendly and sustainable?

Our CorkWall tiles are created by harvesting the bark from Portuguese cork trees. Cork tree bark is regenerative; therefore no trees are cut down to create CorkWall tiles. Cork trees can live to be 200 years old, and the cork forests retain 14 million tons of CO2 yearly as well as providing a home for wildlife and plant biodiversity conservation.

Can I install in high humidity areas?

Due to the product being completely natural, we would not recommend installing CorkWall in areas of high humidity or where there are significant changes in air temperature.
